Just Like Me

Self contained classrooms provide an atmosphere for students to be surrounded by other students like them. These classrooms usually have teachers who have been specifically trained in deaf education. There are some down falls to this type of program. Since they are mainly housed in public schools, they don't offer an ample amount of opportunities for deaf students to be involved compared to residential schools. All in all, self contained programs are usually convenient and offer great learning conditions for deaf children.
